Kyle Cooper:

The Dark Genius of Kyle Cooper | WIRED

 Kyle Cooper:

Kyle Cooper was born on Friday 13th 1962. He spend his youth obsessed with sketching monsters and comic books.

He founded imaginary forces when he graduated college but left in 2003 too pursue his passion to create title sequences with a beginning, middle and end and founded Prologue a creative agency in which he works in a small team while concentrating on creating title sequences.

He takes direct inspiration from William Shakespeare and Stephen Frankfurt’s opening title sequence for 'To Kill A Mockingbird'. Wire magazine wrote about Coopers 'style' of sequence saying, he wasn't hired too do a specific type of sequence. he's hired too "dig under the celluloid and tap into the symbolism of a film". this was done noticeably in the 1995 film 'Se7en'

Cooper has been credited as the man who revitalised the title sequence as an art form. His groundbreaking title sequence for Se7en (1995) changed the way we look and think about title design today and is arguably the most imitated main title ever made. The work was hailed by New York Times Magazine as “One of the most important design innovations of the 1990s”.
