post filming step by step
we arrived at the studio promptly at 9:00am to collect our camera, tripod, mic and rest of gear. by 9:20 we were in the van on route too Shere. we parked up by the church around 9:35 and had a brief look around for opening shots to shoot. there was a light bit of rain so we got some umbrellas and filmed a few ducks in a pond. the rain got a-lot heavier so we bought some clingfilm too wrap the camera. once we had finished that we waited for Nikki too arrive at 10:30 and we started by filming her arriving into Shere in a car. mid shots of her being angry and hitting her string wheel. whilst we were there we also filmed her from different angles doing the same thing from inside the car. then as we knew we would be doing the same thing at the end of the shoot, with her driving away etc we decided to film her doing the opposite, leaving, so that if we lost the car space there wouldn't be any continuity errors. after this we filmed Nikki walking just across the road too the Pub which she would see her ‘husband’ (Adam) with another woman (freya). We filmed Nikki first walking up too the pub window, and then with Adam and Freya positioned inside, we had too film from Nikki’s POV and so that meant getting the right angle from through the windows of the pub, also positioning Adam and Freya in a way that could be seen clearly. However first we had to get clear shots of the table with the cutlery, tables etc. So, as the point of our sequence is that it was all in her head the entire time. We shot an over the shoulder shot, and then also her POV
Our next shots were, just the opposite, Nikki walking down the steps and across the road towards a coffee shop where the same thing happened. The focal point of our plot was that none of it was real, so in these shots, we filmed Adam, Freya and Lilly’s little brother Teddy whose role was Adams biological son and Nikki his mother and Teddy was being introduced too ‘the new girlfriend’. Again we filmed the table first for the post shot. Then we had an over the shoulder shot, we had to be careful with the angles as there was a large beam inside the shot to we had to get Nikki in the way of that as so it looked like she could see them straight. They were simple shots but the rain and dark skies on the day made it seem quite brooding. Then we filmed her walking back towards her car and in editing we would add those shots from earlier of her getting in.
We had lunch then drove back to school for our final shots. We had Freya tied up to the staircase leading in and out of the studio. We covered her in a small amount of fake blood and the girls did her makeup to make her look slightly bruised.
We moved the camera up higher as see was sat on the floor we did this to make her look smaller and vulnerable than she really is. we had a dark red light shine above the camera, too create a silhouette of Nikki when she came through. we had her come down the stairs dragging a baseball bat. you could see her feet at the bat hitting each step as she came down the stairs and then her move slightly in-front of the camera. the final shot was of Nikki swinging the baseball bat towards freya (which was actually the camera) and the shot going black. alternatively. Nikki's back getting in the way leading too the same outcome.
